Happy New Year!

Don’t know if I’m going to get back by a computer again today, or not, and I figured I’d take a moment to wish everyone (whoever you might be, out there) a very happy new year.

We got a nice bit of snow today.  Our plowing company actually showed up, as opposed to last Sunday when they took the day off.  I got to shovel the drive myself that day.  I could lie and say it wasn’t fun, but it was actually alright (I don’t want to be stuck doing it every time we get a few inches, though).

Snow on the ground for New Years and Jessy and I are going out for Mexican then coming home to get the fireplace going, hang out a little with Jack the Dog and Missy.  Should be nice and relaxing . . .

Winter Wonderland

Just a quick post as I want to try posting a couple shots Jessy took over the weekend of our magnificent winter wonderland.

I know some folks don’t like the snow (lord knows I didn’t enjoy shoveling it this Sunday), but warts and all, I love winter.  Last few years, living in the city, what snow we got either melted in minutes or became murky slush even faster.

You may imagine, then, looking at these shots, that I am enjoying our new home.  You would be correct.

If I did that right (no matter how many times I post pics from the gallery, I’ll always be convinced I’ve done it wrong), you should be able to click on those and see bigger versions.  Possibly MUCH bigger versions.

Happy holidays, folks.  Hope Santa (or whomever) brings you good stuff!

Snow!

It’s snowing in New York City right now, big, fat flakes that aren’t even falling to the ground as much as — outside my ninth floor window — swirling around like it’s a blender out there.

And — oh! — as I typed that, I think the snow took it personally and for about ten seconds, it was just hammering down, racing past like there was a prize for first place.

Whups — and now it’s actually moving up, away from the ground.

This is my first December in my little “corner office” (used to be the Supply / Copy room) and the view is magnificent.  I love Winter, love the snow (wow, for about five seconds there, the snow was just holding in place), and for the last few years we’ve gotten, at best, an inch or two.  And it was gone the next morning, if it even lasted that long.

We’ve got a helluva storm coming in today, though, and Jessy and the pets and I now live up in Westchester.  I’m expecting we’ll be snowed in (we went for supplies last night) and I’m rather excited.
